I received a voice mail message from this number (866-270-0379) telling me to call to approve $25,000! That I won't need to pay back and asked to verify my info. I called and I got a message saying "thank you for choosing Shaw cable internet, call back at the toll free number". I called Shaw Cable and was informed this number is a scam and Shaw is aware of the number. I am a Shaw customer who has called the number listed and was directed through a number that never rang thru.

I would have paid attention to what the person said in the call since you are not from the "proper jurisdiction" yet you claim to be from a different one. You have made statements that are clearly incorrect. I know they wouldn't be calling from Milwaukee because it's in a different state. They can keep the calls coming by calling the other side of the state and wasting there time.

My mother received an unsolicited phone call from a woman claiming to be from the IRS and that she was "calling about back taxes" for her 2008-2013 income reports. She knew it was a scam because the first call had the name wrong (Diane, not Diane Smith.) The second person claimed to be Officer "Darryl" from the IRS and that she owed the IRS $2000 from tax irregularities. She called the number back and requested an official letter be sent to her first (which was her 2009 tax return) and then, after being repeatedly asked, she claimed that they were sending the police to her door. The caller had a heavy foreign accent - possibly East Indian. (Note, however, that in the second call, no name was mentioned of an IRS employee. The woman claimed her name was "Cressie" and the area code was from Florida.)
